About Diabetotech

At Diabetotech, our journey began with the mission of Dr. Inge Van Boxelaer, ignited by the approval of Belgium's first closed-loop system in 2019. Dr. Van Boxelaer recognized the unparalleled potential of closed-loop systems in insulin delivery and was determined to provide her patients with this transformative technology.

The pivotal MiniMed 670G trial marked a turning point. Within just three months of use, this closed-loop system led to remarkable improvements in Time in Range (TIR) for individuals living with type 1 diabetes. Adolescents saw their TIR rise from 60% to 67%, while adults experienced an increase from 69% to 74%, all without a rise in hypoglycemic events. This marked a true revolution in diabetes care.

However, a challenge loomed. Information about these systems was scarce, training was elusive, and the lack of education hindered the potential of this life-changing technology. Dr. Van Boxelaer took matters into her own hands. She dived deep into studying the systems, consulting experts, and scouring reliable sources. With a passionate commitment, she crafted an online course to empower her team and extend the benefits of this life-saving technology to her patients.

In 2022, Diabetotech was born. Dr. Van Boxelaer united with esteemed experts in the field to create comprehensive, accessible online courses on all available closed-loop systems. Together, they aimed to bridge the gap between diabetes technology and the people who could benefit from it most.

Our Mission and Vision

Our goal is to empower individuals with diabetes, their healthcare providers, and families with knowledge about diabetes technology in a time-efficient and accessible manner. By offering comprehensive education, we aim to boost confidence in adopting and utilizing these systems. Our ultimate aim is to break down barriers to diabetes technology and bring diabetes care to new heights.
